Lenin Takes Over
Lenin became a lawyer in 1892 and worked to spread Karl Marx's idea of communism. In 1895 He was sent to jail and then he was sent to Siberia near the Lena River. he changed his name to Lenin there. he came back to Russia but then spent the next 14 years out of Russia traveling the world. Then WW1 started in 1914. While other political groups wanted Russia to win, Lenin wanted Russia to lose. This was so that people would get mad at the Russian king and overthrow him. The Russian Revolution then pushed Czar Nicholas the Third off the throne. Lenin and the Bolsheviks took over. Lenin became head of the new communist government.
Lenin had a rise to power that is usual of a political revolutionary. He became a Marxist
but then Marxists split into two groups. He became a Bolshevik and took over the government by
overthrowing the Tsar. He became the leader of Russia and the new communist government. He
now had a lot of power over Russia.
The russian revolution is also a reason why Lenin is famous. Encyclopedia Britannica states that this revolution was led by the Bolsheviks. Lenin led the Bolsheviks.
